Your body. Your data.

Last updated 21 May 2026. This is a plain-English summary of how Tare handles your information.

What we collect

Photos you capture for analysis. Photos are uploaded to our server for body composition analysis and held only as long as needed to compute your reading (typically < 30 seconds). They are not retained for training.

Your inputs. Height, weight, biological sex, goal, activity level — stored on-device. Synced to our server only as part of an analysis request.

Readings. Body fat %, ratios, and timestamps are stored on your device by default. If you enable cloud backup (future feature), these are encrypted in transit and at rest.

Subscription state. Apple manages your subscription. We receive only a receipt token used to confirm entitlement, never your card details.

What we do not collect

We do not collect contact info, advertising IDs, location, or any health data beyond what you explicitly capture. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. We do not use your photos to train AI models.

Third parties

OpenAI. Photos are transmitted to OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision API for measurement extraction under their zero-data-retention enterprise terms.

Apple. Subscription billing, App Store delivery, and push notifications are handled by Apple.

Your rights

You can delete all data at any time from Settings → Erase all data, which removes your reading history and any cloud-stored data within 24 hours. Email us at privacy@fourcents.in with any questions.

Children

Tare is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
