GlowScan Privacy Policy

GlowScan is built by Fourcents. We take your privacy seriously. This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is used, and how it is protected — with particular attention to face and skin data, since that's the heart of how GlowScan works.

1. Face data — what we collect

GlowScan analyzes photos of your face that you choose to capture or select. We use this face data for one purpose only: to perform an on-device skin analysis (skin tone classification, hydration, oiliness, fine-line detection, UV-readiness suggestions) and to show you results inside the app.

What is collected: still-image frames of your face that you explicitly capture or select from your photo library.
How it's used: the image is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework and our on-device machine-learning model. No raw face image, embedding, or analysis is transmitted off your device.
Third-party sharing: None. Face data is not shared with any third party, including OpenAI, Apple, Google, advertisers, or analytics providers.
Where it's stored: face images, if you choose to save them, are stored only in your iOS Photos library under your control. The app does not retain a copy of your face image after analysis.
How long it's retained: face images are retained only as long as the analysis is being computed (typically under one second). After analysis, the face image is discarded from app memory. Analysis results (skin tone label, scores, suggestions) are stored locally on your device until you delete them.
User control: you can delete all on-device GlowScan data at any time by deleting the app, or by tapping Settings → Reset all results inside the app.

2. Other data we collect

Barcode scans (Open Beauty Facts): we send only the scanned barcode string to OpenBeautyFacts.org. Your identity and any face data are never sent.
UV index location (optional): if you grant location access, we request UV index data from a weather provider. We send approximate coordinates only; no identifier is attached.
HealthKit (hydration logging): with your explicit permission, GlowScan can log a 250 ml water entry to Apple Health when you tap "Log Water" or use the GlowScan App Intent. We only write water-volume entries; we never read your health data.
Anonymous device crashes: handled by Apple's standard system reporting if you've opted in at the OS level. We do not run third-party crash SDKs.

3. What we never do

We never sell your data.
We never show ads.
We never use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
We never train models on your face data.
We never share face data with anyone outside your device.

3a. Third-party AI services

GlowScan does not use any third-party AI service. The "AskGlow" personalized-advice feature runs entirely on-device with a deterministic rule-based engine. No data is sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI provider. No LLM dependency is shipped in the app.

The only external services contacted by the app are:

OpenBeautyFacts.org — public ingredient database. Only the scanned product barcode is sent. No personal data.
Apple WeatherKit — for UV index. Approximate location only.

3b. Account deletion

GlowScan does not require an account. The "profile" you fill in is stored only on your device. You can delete your profile, scan history, analyses, preferences, and all local data at any time from inside the app: Profile → Legal → "Delete my profile + all data". This is an instant in-app action — no website visit, email, or customer-service call required.

4. Subscriptions

GlowScan offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, GlowScan Pro (monthly or yearly), which may begin with a free trial. Payments are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit — we never see or store your card or billing information. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. 5. Children

GlowScan is rated 4+ but is not designed for use by minors under 13 without parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Your rights

You can delete all GlowScan data at any time by uninstalling the app. For any other request — including a written confirmation that no face data is retained — email info@fourcents.in.
